A Busy Summer
I thought I'd have lots of time to write this summer. But, life happened as it is always prone to do. It started with the lawn mower breaking down on me. Not even a year old and already stopped running after using it what? Maybe three times? I have a huge backyard that is hard on mowers but that seemed a bit ridiculous. Then my phone stopped working. Happy 52nd Year!
Most people celebrate New Year on January 1st, but for me, my birthday, April 29 has always felt like the beginning of a new year. Beauty and the Beast
Today, I went to see the new version of Beauty and the Beast with my daughter. It was always my favorite Disney movie and one of the first movies she and I shared together when she was young. As I watched in awe at the spectacular special effects and wonderful creation Disney came up with this time, I thought about the heart of the story. I Did It!
Finally I have seen all my muses live. The 80's icons who inspired the characters in my novel series and lead me on this wonderful journey of writing! On December 2, I was able to travel to Atlanta to see Brian Setzer, who inspired the character of Douglas "Dagger" Meyers. It was an amazing show. Brian is an awesome performer! Book 4???
I honestly thought I was done when I finished Book 3, Adrian and Melody. The couple has come full circle. It seemed like the happiest of endings had finally arrived. But then something magical happened. You see Book 3 is going to introduce a LOT of new characters. Sex, No Drugs, and Rock and Roll?
Some people may read "A Melody for Adrian" and think to themselves, "Where are the drugs? These guys are in a punk rock band, they should be doing drugs?" I made a decision to not have drugs in the first book (although there will be some issues in book 2) for a simple reason. I've never done any illegal drugs and have zero experience with them.
